About Cross Collar Jiu Jitsu Clear Lake
 

Led by Robert "The General" Lee & Professor Zack Hunter. We live local, buy local, and we are retired military with a strong connection to the Clear Lake area and to personal health. We are excited to bring more Jiu-Jitsu to the Clear Lake area! We have classes for kids, pre-teens/teens, and adults. Come try a class!

Professor Robert Lee

First Degree Black Belt

Head Professor

Robert Lee has been training Jiu Jitsu since 2004. As a retired military veteran of over 20 years in the United States Coast Guard Aviation Division, Robert has been relocated several times. In his military career, he has had the privilege of training with a number of different coaches across the continental United States and Brazil. Robert has stored away years of different training techniques and ideas that developed the progressive style of Jiu Jitsu he does today. Professor Robert has participated in six super fights and many competitions throughout his years of training.

Zack Hunter has been training Jiu-Jitsu since 2009 along with other various types of martial arts including boxing, kickboxing, judo, and wrestling. His passion for Jiu Jitsu led him to open his own gym in 2018 and in 2020 he became part owner of Cross Collar Jiu Jitsu. Throughout his training, Professor Zack has competed in multiple Jiu Jitsu competitions which started when he was a blue belt and has continued throughout the years, most recently being the IBJJF Austin Open M1 Champion (2022) and IBJJF Waco Open M1 Champion (2023)

 

Besides Jiu Jitsu, Professor Zack had one amateur MMA fight that he won in 30 seconds by arm bar submission. He also participated in a super fight in which he won by a triangle arm bar submission in 36 seconds. His passion for Jiu Jitsu is evident in his teaching style.

Professor Jonathan Garcia

First Degree Black Belt Professor

Jonathan began his Martial Arts journey in 2007. In this time he has trained in multiple disciplines including Wrestling, Kickboxing, and Brazilian JiuJitsu to come up with a realistic and effective approach to teaching. Jonathan received his Black Belt from Professor Jared Chaffee of the Carlson Gracie Team out of Conroe, TX. Jonathan has been a part of the Carlson Gracie Team since 2015 and his passion is teaching No-gi BJJ. Aside from Martial Arts Jonathan received his B.S. Degree from Texas A&M University in 2011 and is an active Committeeman for the Houston Livestock Show.
